Umar Lee rocks the jafi-sphere with his threat on Michael Mohammad Knight. JihadWatch, Frontpagemag, assorted others and some right-wing Israeli blogs upset about the Daniel Pearl reference are using this as a jumping off point to promote their agendas.
Most of the posts are illustrated with a photo of Umar taken at some conference somewhere holding a big sword with a scowl on his face…

Michael Muhammad Knight, in his own words, received via email today:
Before posting on his blog, he [Umar] sent the threat to me as a personal message. A private communication between two people is not showmanship, and it’s not satire. I don’t know the man from a bucket of paint. We have had no prior contact and I am not a reader of his blog. When I receive a message like that from an absolute stranger, I owe the person nothing.
When he posted the threat publicly, he also mentioned where I live and attend school, and challenged Muslims in the area to do something about me. I do not believe that it helps the Muslim community to have any tolerance for this behavior.
It was with the consultation of a well-regarded community leader that I contacted the FBI. After my communication with the FBI, Umar retracted his statement.
Having heard MMK’s side of the story, assuming he is telling the truth, I no longer believe Umar Lee to be a sane man.

The Real Men (Who Are Straight Up Killers) Watch returns with some adab-less, out-of-the-middle-way fantasies from Umar Lee, the person who coined the phrase:
I am calling your kafir yuppie ass to a fight with no rules and we can do this at any number of masjids. Of course my prefernce is to do this in yemen, somalia or pakistan where instead of fighting i could cut your neck with the sword of islam and watch you squeal like a bitch like daniel pearl.
I think I saw somewhere awhile ago on Umar’s blog that he had been invited to some non-Muslim school to speak about Islam. Recording this here to ensure that anybody who does a basic Google search on the guy will be able to quickly discover how deviant and abhorrent he really is…

The interfaith effort to recover the essential whup-ass nature of God:
The Sunnah and history of Islam is rewritten and the likes of Khald Ibn Waleed (r.a.) are downplayed and the Prophet (s.a.s.) and the Sahabah are made to be non-violent hippies who sat around gawking at butterflies all day. Northing could be further from the truth. The Prophet {s.a.s.) was a warrior and many of the Sahabah that he loved were straight-up killers. Others were robbers (robbing the caravans of the kufar). Others took women and young girls as the booty of war. Islam spread through jihad and was sustained by the sword of very masculine men.

What bothers Driscoll — and the growing number of evangelical pastors who agree with him — is not the trope of Jesus-as-lover. After all, St. Paul tells us that the Church is the bride of Christ. What really grates is the portrayal of Jesus as a wimp, or worse. Paintings depict a gentle man embracing children and cuddling lambs. Hymns celebrate his patience and tenderness. The mainstream church, Driscoll has written, has transformed Jesus into “a Richard Simmons, hippie, queer Christ,” a “neutered and limp-wristed popular Sky Fairy of pop culture that . . . would never talk about sin or send anyone to hell.”

Umar Lee calls for a “fleet of martyrs” to be put together from Western Muslims to try to come to the aid of Gaza.
The idea of American, Canadian, British and other Western Muslims setting up a fleet to go into Gaza at once is something I would like to see the major Muslim organizations take on. It is a win-win situation. If the fleet arrives those who made it possible will be rewarded for the good deeds and the people of Gaza will be helped and if the fleet is attacked then I pray that Allah will grant those on board martyrdom and this event will be used to create an international al outcry for the people of Gaza.
