This is Silvio Berlusconi’s superior civilisation: A Northern League politician is to attend an “anti-Islam congress”. The Northern League is part of the current right-wing government in Italy. The Searchlight report adds that the politician in question, Mario Borghezio, once shouted at a public meeting: “no to immigrant shits, no to Muslims who are f***ing up our schools” and that the attendence of the politician is “probably intended as a slap in the face to the European Commission for Human Rights, which in a recent memorandum (CommDH 2008-18) accused the Italian government of virtual collusion in the xenophobic and racist trend that has taken a turn for the worse with the continuing attacks against immigrants and Roma people”.
