Obama met with AIPAC yesterday, promising to do “everything” in his power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. However, unlike McCain, he also reiterated his determination to pursue “tough and principled” diplomacy with Iran. McCain’s camp griped and sniped accordingly.

TIME’s Middle East blog, which unlike RCP is a serious policy analysis outlet, has much more detail on the respective positions of McCain and Obama towards Israel and Iran.

Rev. John Hagee, the anti-gay/Muslim/Catholic televangelist whose support McCain accepted, apologizes for his anti-Catholic remarks. I’m not holding my breath for an apology to the gay or Muslim community. And let us not forget Rev. Rod Parsely and his tender love for the Muslims.

There’s an extremely important story at DailyKos by DHinMI, detailing how the McCain campaign threw an Arab American supporter Ali Jawad (a leader in the Detroit muslim community) under the bus, to appease jafi-extraodinaire Debbie Schussel, who claims Jawad is a terrorist agent of Hizbollah.

DHinMI is not muslim, but has family in the faith, and has been a consistent and principled voice in defense of civil rights and in opposition to the culture of secularist scorn towards faith that permeates the political left.
