  Christian warmonger and war criminal calls for more bloodshed in the Middle East:

  Former British premier Tony Blair criticised US President Barack Obama on Friday for being too soft on Iran, urging the West to deal with a “looming and coming challenge” from the Islamic republic.

  Speaking at Britain’s inquiry into the war in Iraq, he rejected suggestions from the panel that the 2003 US-led invasion there had actually empowered neighbouring Iran and encouraged it to pursue its nuclear programme.

  “I say this to you with all of the passion I possibly can — at some point the West has to get out of what I think is a wretched policy or posture of apology for believing that we are causing what the Iranians are doing, or what these extremists are doing,” he said.

  “We are not. The fact is they are doing it because they disagree fundamentally with our way of life and they’ll carry on doing it unless they are met by the requisite determination and if necessary, force.”

  Yet, she stayed silent in the build up to the war:

  The former MI5 director general Eliza Manningham-Buller today delivered a withering assessment of the case for war against Iraq, saying it had significantly increased the terrorist threat to Britian.

  Giving evidence to the Chilcot inquiry, Manningham-Buller said the threat posed by Saddam Hussein before the US-led invasion in 2003 was low.

  But the toppling of Saddam allowed Osama bin Laden to gain a stronghold in Iraq and radicalised young Muslims in Britain, she said.

  In evidence that undermined the case for war presented by the former prime minister Tony Blair, she was asked whether it was feared Saddam could have linked terrorists to weapons of mass destruction, facilitating their use against the west.

  “It certainly wasn’t of concern in either the short term or the medium term to me or my colleagues,” she replied.

  This is Tony Blair:

  Final question from [John] Chilcott is inviting [Tony] Blair to express some remorse over the mistakes and deaths…doesn’t look like he is taking it.

  And there should never be any doubt that he is a warmongering bastard:

  Tony Blair appeared to suggest today that military action might be necessary to stop Iran developing its weapons programmes.

  The former prime minister, who is now a Middle East peace envoy, said Tehran’s actions have made him even more afraid today that a rogue state could supply weapons of mass destruction to terrorists than he was when he took Britain to war with Iraq in 2003.

  It is doubtful whether this criminal will ever be brought to justice in this world, but it is worth supporting efforts to have Blair harassed wherever he goes for the rest of his life.

  And on the topic of Blair, I am not at all surprised to see Martin Bright agreeing with Mad Mel.

    I’m impressed by what I’ve seen of the British public’s indignation at Blair’s crimes. I’m a little jealous, as I wish Americans could have a little moral backbone, too. I think the world would be much better place if political leaders were actually held accountable for the death and destruction they cause or perpetuate.

      Yeah but that nothing is going to happen, the entire political establishment has bascially been passive about this apart from some marginalised exceptions. This has really exposed the Labour party for what it is, a centrist establishment party that is desparate to move to the right anyime it thinks it can milk some advantage for doing so.

      Blair as as a ‘peace envoy’ PMSL – that says it all really.

  Blair plays the ’9/11, get out of jail free card’ that has worked so well for criminals formerly in government on this side of the Atlantic.

  An unrepentant Tony Blair defended his decision to join the United States in attacking Iraq, arguing Friday before a panel investigating the war that the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks made the threat of weapons of mass destruction impossible to ignore.

  Wanted war criminal Tony Blair will attend the Iraq Inquiry on Friday. I don’t expect much in the way of hard questions, although the inquiry has revealed (or more accurately recycled) various views and facts on the legality of the invasion.

  Sticking with the Iraq War, Con(man) Coughlin says:

  I’ve been sceptical about what yet another inquiry into the Iraq war might achieve…

  The reason Coughlin is sceptical is because he is well-known conduit for the lies that were fed to the public in the run up to the war. Any inquiry which reminds the public of the lies that Coughlin promoted has to bad for his ‘journalistic’ credentials.
