A dhummi’s view of Europe: The ever paranoid pseudo-scholar Bat Ye’or* gave an interview to the Jerusalem Post. Amidst her usual rantings about the coming (or arrival) of Eurabia, she said this of Europe:
Look what Europe has given to the world: democracy and human rights, the love of peace. Look at its achievements in the field of literature, music, law, architecture.
Fascism? Nazism? Communism? Totalitarianism? The Holocaust? Anti-Semitism? The modern nation-state (probably the world’s biggest killer)? Two gruesome world wars? Racial pseudoscience? Colonialism? The hypocrisy of European nations following their liberation from the clutches of the Third Reich? Near extermination of New World peoples and appropriation of its riches? Treaties signed by European powers in which they agreed to only use cruel weapons on ‘lesser peoples’? Cristiano Ronaldo?!
Although I actually agree there are many cultural products from Europe that deserve merit (and I receive a lot of stick from fellow believers when I suggest this), Ye’or’s comments are disingenuous. Such a lopsided view is as bad as any crass anti-European tirade.
*How apt that her chosen pseudonym sounds like a donkey.
