Muslim revert and teacher Yusha Evans, of Jacksonville, Florida, received an envelope with a white powder in it yesterday. It was determined later not to be anthrax, but not before Evans was proactively dosed with antibiotics.** Previously, there was a dust-up at the Jacksonville city council about putting a Muslim on the city’s Human Rights Commission and a pipe bomb was planted at a local masjid. In light of this, CAIR is asking for an investigation. The comments after this current article are what you’d expect–in other words, extremely depressing.
**Personally, I’d have to be really convinced that it might be anthrax before I’d go on a course of antibiotics, as my past experiences as an adult have been worse than the original illness. And yes, I’m aware that anthrax is nasty stuff.
