At least some truth was spoken there, though I doubt the leaders of the “developed world” have ears to hear it.

What the developed countries were trying to do was to freeze emissions where they are. What that would mean is that they will continue to emit many times as much as developing ones, essentially colonizing the sky.
A fair deal is where every country is given right to emit carbon proportional to it’s population. And the total amount of carbon emitted is equal to the amount the earth can handle.
