The 5 year old, the Spouse and I were discussing evolution, humans being apes and Adam and Eve one fine day. After that talk, I was thinking that while parents usually do see eye to eye on a lot of issues, there are still some differences between them. Some even belong to different religions, sects or political ideologies. Some of those differences can affect how and what you teach children. So how do the resident experts here handle child-rearing and their differences?

i had a friend who was a researcher in an evolutionary biology lab. his wife was an evangelical, and she was raising their kids that way. he simply explained evolution to them when they were young, and that did it for them, as they found the creationist indoctrination in their church far less persuasive when they understood the context of the framing.
