The Enlightenment and its various ideological offshoots (Marxism/Communism being a good example) have murdered millions and destroyed whole societies. The wealth and power that the Enlightened Western countries generated for themselves have come at the deaths and suffering of all the unenlightened mud peoples they have killed. My beef is not so much with the conquest of people, but in the treatment of those conquered and the Enlightened people have been horrendous. Enlightenment fundamentalists have been the biggest moral hypocrites for the last 200 years or so.
