Tis. Google is becoming like the Tivo of print media. You skip all the commercials and get right to the news. Murdoch is one of many media companies (struggling) who are considering locking out google and other news amalgamators.

Sure. You put something in your robots.txt and voila, no more indexing by Google.
However, just because it’s firewalled from Google doesn’t mean it won’t get out there somehow. Back not too long ago when the NYTimes tried this same thing with their columnists, I knew people who would get Paul Krugman’s column (I’m thinking via Lexis-Nexis) and post it in the comments section of a popular progressive blog, 2,000 characters at a time.
Of course, Murdoch’s stuff isn’t worth the electrons it’s taking up, so I don’t see that kind of devotion inspiring people….
