Recently, US Senator Al Franken introduced an amendment that would give US citizens working for military contractors access to US courts if they have been raped by other contractor employees. Thirty senators – all Republicans – voted no.

Someone has created a website, http://www.republicansforrape.org for the “thirty legislators who were brave enough to stand up in defense of rape and vote against Senator Al Franken’s anti-rape amendment to the 2009 Defense Appropriations bill.”

The satirical blog writers couldn’t resist a Saudi Arabia analogy:

We can learn a lesson from our partners in freedom over in Saudi Arabia. As partners in our war against terrorism, they have a terrific legal model when it comes to rape that I think the liberals in Congress can learn from. As a deeply religious country they know that rape is something between God and the people involved. Not the liberal media!

In November, the General Court of Qatif, sentenced a raped woman who was trying to “use the media to aggravate and influence the judiciary” to six months in prison and 200 lashes. This sentence was doubled because of her clearly inappropriate attempts to interfere with the system by bringing in the media.

They don’t tolerate needless process in the name of “justice” and neither should we! I’d like to see that Jones woman get a few lashes herself!
