That is what Muslims said….
Organizers had said they hoped 50,000 worshipers would show up for the traditional Muslim afternoon prayer at 1 p.m. But they said many people have been frightened away by the backlash against the event.
Here’s the thing: the rabid reaction from the Christianofascists is evidence enough that the event was a success. Why? It doesn’t matter if there were 1000, 50,000, or 3 Muslims at the event. The fact that the mere chance of some Muslims congregating to pray terrified Christianofascists enough that they wanted to counter is already enough proof of Muslim presence on the American landscape.
Also, aziz, I wonder the wisdom of this site directing traffic to that extremist Christianofascist site you have hyperlinked in your original post…
fair point Naila, but my general policy is to always link. I make exceptions for actual hate sites like stormfront or a jihadi forum or whatnot. blogs i disagree with – strenuously – dont really qualify IMHO. of course your mileagemay vary.
