Yeah, like this white convert guy Troy Kastigar*, mentioned in the story… oh wait…
It was interesting that in the ‘police record’ the Times linked to, the last report was about Kastigar being beat down by two members of the Gangster Disciples who were former associates of his. “Victim believes suspects will continue to attack him in the future.” Depending on who is chasing you, any place that is not here could look like a pretty good move…

Actually what you dont seem to know is Kastigar was not white. He’s mixed blood – American Indian, Ojibway. Hardly white priviledge. And he was killed in Mogadishu yesterday.

What’s your source for saying Kastigar is dead? It’s not showing up on the news wires.
Also, what constitutes “mixed blood”? I’m 1/16 Cherokee indian, but nobody has ever reacted to me as anything other than caucasian…

Sure the hmong dream of going back. That description you have there of “minimal social capital, war-torn country”, etc. is the traditional condition
of many US immigrants. Their children and grandchildren magically turn into “the americans”.

I was notified of his death by his family….which I know well. Reacting you as white and you being a mixed blood are two different things. Troy was killed in Mogadishu on Monday – one of his friends from Minneapolis, Mohamed Hassan, was killed during the weekend. I believe they were both buried at the same time in a cemetery in Mogadishu – a phone call to Minneapolis was made during the burial.
