Yet another rising Republican star busted for racism.
Last Wednesday, Audra Shay, the Bobby Jindal-supported shoe-in to be the new leader of the Young Republicans was engaged in an exchange with some other members of that group on her Facebook page. A Facebook page friend posted the following:
Obama Bin Lauden [sic] is the new terrorist… Muslim is on there side [sic]… need to take this country back from all of these mad coons… and illegals.
Shay weighs in on the comments a few minutes later: “You tell em Eric! lol.”
Several other Young Republican Facebook friends challenged the use of the word ‘coon’ (but not the comment about Muslims). Shay subsequently ‘de-friended’ the commenters who challenged the racist slur, but kept her friendship link with the racist commenter.
The two comments directly below the boxed comments are worthy of attention too. “Obama faces” (with a wink) is more racist reference, and the comment about ‘Liberal’s (sic) shooting themselves in the foot’ is ridiculous in this context…

1) religious bigotry is less objectionable than racial bigotry (while sex bigotry is arguably even less objectionable than religious bigotry). not saying it should be like that, it is how it is (though i think since religion is something you choose in the united states it isn’t really in the same class as sex or race).
2) there is no taboo comparable to anti-black racism in the united states because of our particular history, nor should their be. atheists, homosexuals and muslims all have comparable negative ratings in mainstream polls in the united states, but none of these groups have a history of being oppressed in the united states as blacks have had.

The commenter most likely is not concerned about Muslims religious beliefs, as much as he is concerned with their actions and their being on the side of “Osama bin Lauden.” It is only the more refined bigots who actually try to study Islam in order to discredit it where your “religious bigotry” distinction has any merit. Considering the commenter talked about “Muslims”, and then “coons” and “illegals” it isn’t too much of a stretch to say that for him (and many others in this country like him) “Muslim” is a race and the bigotry exhibited is more akin to “Racial bigotry” than “religious bigotry.” Of course, many times “religious bigotry” stems from “racial bigotry” as people try to justify their racism through discrediting or mocking a hated groups religious beliefs.

You might have missed the point the mental midget Eric S. Piker was making. The slurs were against Barak Obama (Obama Bin Lauden)and the main thing this nit is concerned about is race.
I have noticed on the far right that the charicatures and talk have gradually become more and more overtly racist.
The fact that President Obama has Muslim blood is just icing on the racist cake for the Rush Limburger faithful.

I spent a short amount of time over at Jihad Watch over the weekend to see how the other half spend their Independence Day. Eric S Piker is a typical example.
It was obvious how simple and inarticulate this crowd is. This is a segment of American population with severe problems. They are extremely conformist, hugely gullible, malevolent, xenophobic and cognitively impaired. We are talking lifelong disability.
They really should not be allowed to vote.

My hypothesis…..in America, religious scholarship is largely denigrated. Therefore the population stratification is conservative/fundamentalist/religious/lower IQ vs. liberal/progressive/irreligious-or-reform religious/higher IQ.
In MENA religious scholarship is respected, so we see within religion stratification.
Like the conservative, fundamentalist, non-college educated Nejad supporters and the liberal, reform, largely college-educated Mousavi supporters.

Religious scholarship doesn’t need to be denigrated for fundamentalism to attract the mentally impaired. Harvard has a Divinity School.
Fundamentalism attracts the same sort of crowd that phrenology and scientology attract, People with special attributes and genetic predilections (a missing lobe or something).
There are lots of brilliant religious scholars in the US. Nasr among them. He has to be teaching somebody.
Who does Bill O’Reilly teach? There, you see, is the problem. I think some shows on Fox News are actually broadcast in color and patterns that appeal to brain damaged people.

You’ll hear testimonials that are so transparent that you just have to not overlook them. People on some of these blogs and websites will say: “Ever since Pa fell off the tractor and hit his head, he has been watchin’ alot of Sean Hannity.”
See if I am not mistaken….

From this study….
Note, study on american youth…..MENA youth would be quite different I think.

Looks stretchy to me. I can’t login and see the details. Bias would be my concern.
So if one tests for a specific type of intelligence or penalizes for a different intelligence type, you could see these minor point ranges.
Psych journals tend to look at Prayer as a mental phenom. Intelligence journals publish articles about how prayer is “ancient, pre-rational, supernatural and wishful thinking.”
Hear any presumption there?

My hypoth is that a correlation can be demonstrated between fundamentalist, dogmatic, and conservative political and religious affiliations and lower IQ strata.

Are we sure that both parties are serious here? If “need to take this country back from all these mad coons” is a joke, it isn’t very funny, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a joke. Also, are we sure that “You tell em Eric!” was intended to reply to his second comment, rather than his first alone? You know how people sometimes reply to what they read first, even after the conversation has moved on.
I have no brief wiith Audra Sigler Shay and I have no reason to think she’s not a racist. However, I just can’t believe these Republicans keep being so dumb as to reveal their inner monologue in public. The Republican’s propensity to shoot herself in the foot is amazing isn’t it?
Geez, are we sure this is a real person and not some elaborate hoax? I can say for certain that if my initials spelt ASS, I would not make a habit of using my middle name in public contexts.
