Pregnant Egyptian woman slain in Germany by anti-Muslim bigot in courtroom.
Media coverage has spanned days in Egypt, while the German media and the Western media have barely touched it.
The Egyptian Pharmacists’ Association called for a boycott of German drugs. The victim was a pharmacist.
According to numerous interviews in Egyptian local papers with el-Sherbini family, the man who stabbed al-Sherbini used to accuse her of being a “terrorist,” and in one incident, he tried to take off her head scarf. Mourners at her funeral called her the “martyr of the head scarf.”

Unbelievable.

Unbelievable – but why boycot German drugs? The logic approximates Yoda’s grammar. Some neo-Nazi kills an Egyptian immigrant who is a pharmacist, so we should boycot German-made drugs? … What?

There was a similar move to boycott Danish chocolate during the cartoon scandal. Arabs are learning that since the press will never cover the whole story, their best bet is to make their money heard. Not a bad idea, but the execution is, as you noted…somewhat lacking.

The more I read, the more I want to puke. Have you seen the comments on that piece? And this is Huffpo! What is WRONG with people?!

Reading comments to news articles abour Muslims/Islam is just about the most depressing thing you can do. It’s worrying how far into the mainstream Jihad/dhmmiwatch memes have taken hold.

If you think that is bad, why don’t you see the comments in this blog?

I said my two cents in the blog post, they’re all a bunch of loud-mouthed cowards for the most part.

Islam in Europe is a curious blog.
They collect lots of material about Muslims (I make use of the resource myself), which inevitably attracts the Dhummies and Jafis, but I’m not sure whether the blog owner is a member of the Eurabia Crowd.

I think at the very least the owner is very Pro Israel or Zionist from what he has written abou the subject in the past. Or at least I think he did, as I haven’t read the website in a while. H

What an utterly horrific and tragic story. May Allah grant her paradise and give her family some peace.
I just read the comments to the article. Shaking my head. Guess I’ll never be visiting Germany with my headscarfed self.

I’d advise just avoiding France and Germany altogether.

Muse, does that mean Christians should not go to Pakistan due to mobs attacking Christians?
Muse 10:16 am on July 7, 2009 Permalink
I dont really care whether Christians go to Pakistan. I dont speak for all Muslims. I’m talking about myself.
But for the sake of argument, yea I’d advise westerners to avoid Waziristan on their next vacation.
Also, I can’t access your link.

While most Turks (the largest single group of Muslims in Germany) don’t wear headscarves in Germany, there are plenty that do and don’t get killed for doing so. This guy sounds like a lone psycho, who happens to be an aussiedler(someone who isn’t originally from Germany but was allowed German citizenship based upon his German heritage), a German-Russian one at that. They have a reputation for being more xenophobic than the average German.
