I’m still not clear on whether we’re supposed to denounce, support, or remain apathetic to Muslims desiring to support an armed struggle against occupation.
the operative principle is that armed resistance to occupation is a legitimate right; targeting civilians and/or seeking to replace occupation with tyranny is not.
agreed. muslims or nonmuslims alike are bound by teh same principle. in practice though I suspect that muslims seeking to express that legitimate right may have a harder time laying claim to it by virtue of Islamophobia.
And is that right limited to the inhabitants of the occupied land? If not, and I don’t believe so, then are the actions of these wanna-be Jihadis commendable or deplorable?
Naeem, since when do the inhabitants of the occupied land want to be occupied by a group of miscreants that you have praised prior in your blog? I don’t know why so many retarded Muslims continue to passionately defend the Taliban when they have had no shame in slaughtering Shi’as on a regular basis. Hell, even in Pakistan, in Parachinar, your precious Taliban had no shame in beheading and dismembering the bodies of Shi’a truck drivers, yet Muslims whinge like little girls over Gaza and Iraq. Hell, I haven’t seen anyone even on this site bring up the plight of Shi’as in Parachinar, who are worse off than Gazans.
Dan, so are we having a pissing contest to see whose atrocities are worse? Are the Israelis worse than the Taliban or the Americans or the Russians or the Iranians?
If you have questions concerning what I’ve written on my blog, you’re free to address them in the appropriate forum. As for here, we’re talking about general principles regarding resistance and occupation, specifically when it comes to Muslims. Let’s not get sidetracked.

I personally don’t feel there is a blanket rule.

Yes, exactly.
That’s not a blanket rule to “support Muslims desiring to support an armed struggle against occupation”.
