capitalist institutions often respond to bad press. d&d is big in urban locales with many muslims, so a few pickets here & there would probably result in a shift in policy.

i’m leery of that though as most DD franchises are owned by independents who arent involved in any of this.
its probably beter for elkhatib to run his own restaurant, or better yet – start his own franchise.
