my initial (naughty) reaction was ‘what? no 40 lashes then?’
but I realise this was in poor taste and i could get stoned to death for causing such fitnah….

I noticed a big difference in the way the story was first reported (the boys insisted on participating in the maatam) and the second report with news about the conviction (he forced us).
that was an interesting suggestion by one community leader that ppl donate blood in place of the self-flagellation ritual.
