By law, a woman has to consent to a marriage in order for it to be religiously legal. Children, also by law, are not responsible for their own actions. The onset of puberty is considered the point at which Muslims become responsible for their actions. Ergo, a prepubescent girl cannot be held accountable for her actions, and thus cannot legally consent to a marriage, and thus cannot be married. And if you need to hear that spelled out in order to understand that pedophilia is wrong, get your head checked. Aisha’s age is not the issue here.
