Islam has been massively covered in the media for close to 7 years and they still cannot get basic terminology right re: veil and hijab. Hayzeus Christo.

i sympathize with your feeling, but just wonder if “veil” is really a technical term at all.

well from two perspectives, i don’t think veil is really an islamic technical term perse, (maybe purdah?) but from “western” coverage of Islam, veil just seems to be a catch-all for whatever a muslim woman has on her head that covers any degree of hair that isnt a baseball cap.
