  Stay out of our affairs please: The Organization of Islamic Countries is upset at a conference organised by bigots in Cologne, Germany:

  A spokesman for the OIC’s Islamophobia Observatory in Jeddah said in a statement issued yesterday that the proposed conference was aimed at arousing anti-Muslim sentiments in Europe and that it would pose a threat to inter-communal peace and harmony in society.

  Has the OIC ever made comments about “inter-communal peace and harmony” in Saudi Arabia? Iraq? Pakistan? Lebanon? Egypt?

  Here’s a novel idea: why doesn’t the OIC stick to improving the situation of communities in its member countries, and leave Europe’s Muslims to find their own solutions?

  The OIC is structurally incapable of handling criticism of member countries and it is much simpler to criticize others like Europe or India over Kashmir for example. Anyway something is better than nothing and the OIC articulates in a weak way the sentiments of the ‘Ummah’.
