The Scottish National Party have won a Labour stronghold in Glasgow, recording a near 23% swing. This was Labour’s 25th safest seat in Britain.
This election defeat for New Labour could spell the end of Gordon Brown’s premiership; and, perhaps, bring the end of the Union a small step closer to becoming reality. (Although there have been such predictions before.)
