Obama’s campaign will create a “muslim liason” position, though whether this role will be to actually address muslim-american concerns or just feel our pain is yet to be determined.

According to FBI stats, hate crimes are supposedly lower than against jews, but looking at those stats, they have a curious anomaly, after 9/11 hate crimes against muslims dropped precipitously which makes me question whether there was in fact a decrease in hate crimes vs. simply far less reporting, obviously the muslim in me leans toward the latter. As for whether we’re richer, i don’t think there are any really good stats to bear that out, although it is a comforting thought, forgive the groupthink.

    Here’s to hoping its productive.

we are richer. look at the bridges tv study by cornell.

as for post 9/11 drop in hate crimes. can u give some credit to this wonderful society where white girls were ready to wear hijabs and even the disgusting president was willing to go to a mosque and say ‘islam is alright.’

oh right. we’re muslim so we must never give credit to america.

either extreme of hating by default doesn’t make sense, one extreme being hating by default, the other simply being a reaction to the previous extreme, I think the questions raised by Sy are valid, we shudn’t simply close our eyes and except watvr is staged, as an american whether on muslim points or not we should always be objective, sure we should give credit to america where its due, but at the same time it doesn’t mean we should go into blind following either, frankly its un-american to do that.

sry for the long comment but the comment of “oh right. we’re muslim so we must never give credit to america.” was a bit inappropriate in response to someone acting like more of an american. it bothers me
