It’s always easier to just blame the hippies!
In one sense he has a point. However he betrays his bias. It’s not “radical” Islam that fills the void, it’s mainstream Islam.

empirically he’s wrong. most people believe are turning to unspecified theism, and some to atheism. islam is mostly an ethnic religion in europe.
