is there a backstory about why his boyfriend was arrested? my understanding is that the main reason homosexuals are arrested/persecuted in the muslim world is if they are too public (that is, they strongly and vocally identify as gay), or they can’t get them on something else (i.e., they can get them on homosexuality). i’ve heard gay sex tourists go to places like morocco because it is so easy to get straight men to have sex with them; so i’m wondering if this is just an example, or if there are other issues at work….
