I buy Royal Basmati. Its usually available in 5 lb bags - I could reliably find it in grocery stores when I lived in texas, and now having just moved to wisconsin, I find the same thing at the grocery here. It makes me happy.

I am seriously tempted to go out and stock up now after reading this story. How much of this is just paranoia? I know the food shortage is severe worldwide but in the US and Europe we spend a fraction of our incomes on food, and so the shortage can’t really be hurting us that badly. Can it?
