The fact that biryani has not already been mentioned is a travesty. I direct your attention to this feast: the world’s largest biryani cookoff. Now that’s what I call good eatin’.
I love biryani, or leh-me-mareez. But this environmentalism thing bothers me a little, so maybe I shall settle for more veg with, for taste, some non-veg.
How is veg/non-veg related to environment? Actually to make same amount of food value (in calories) non-veg food demands more from the environment. For example, 1 calorie food value of chicken comes from maybe 10 calories of foodgrain.
But if you live in a sparsely populated area, don’t feel bad about eating as much non-veg as you wish. The reason requires long explanation, not appropriate here.

oh man… haleem is a close second. I go with the dried onions (”baristo” ?), lemon juice, and mint leaves on top.

Baraka has mentioned halva puri and channay, so I will say palak gosht.
Although right now I fancy some aloo anday.

Baraka, would you mind adding lassi to it
baraka 11:22 pm on April 22, 2008 | #
Only if it’s mango lassi, but I’d rather have a cup of chai after that kind of breakfast!
