I think the best, absolute best tribute to the Rev. King that I have seen recently was in the movie Elizabethtown. If you’ve seen it, you know the scene I mean. It was only a minute long but it made me want to go on pilgrimage to Memphis.
He was getting more and more radical toward the end of his brief life. Though Malcolm X is typically considered the more radical of the two. So yeah, we do clean him up a bit in America. It’s how we show our love in an image-obsessed age.

MLK was quite “radical” too though wasn’t he? He seems to have been ‘cleaned up’ for the ‘mainstream’…
